Meet our founders
MortarCAPS was founded by Ingenuity Partners, a technology consultancy with deep expertise in higher education.
After years of working with institutions across Australia, we saw a universal challenge—data fragmentation and interoperability issues were holding the sector back.
Critical student, credential, and operational data were siloed, making collaboration, compliance, and innovation harder than they needed to be.
To solve this, we partnered with CAUDIT and leading institutions to establish the MortarCAPS Higher Learning Data Standard (MCDS) as a not-for-profit initiative dedicated to creating a common data standard for higher learning.
Designed by and for the sector, the MortarCAPS Higher Learning Data Standard (MCDS) ensures that institutions can seamlessly exchange, access, and leverage data—driving efficiency, reducing complexity, and enabling better outcomes for students, educators, and administrators.
By uniting the sector around a globally aligned, transparent, and accessible data framework, MCDS is building the foundation for a more connected and future-ready higher education ecosystem.
