MortarCAPS is proud to announce the MCDS TechnologyOne partnership, a landmark collaboration that marks a major step forward in streamlining data and systems across post-secondary education.
As the inaugural vendor partner for the MortarCAPS Higher Learning Data Standard (MCDS), TechnologyOne is aligning its market-leading OneEducation platform to the sector-built standard.
This move will enable universities, TAFEs, and vocational providers across Australia, the UK, and Canada to reduce duplication, improve compliance, and unlock real-time interoperability.
“TechnologyOne’s partnership with MCDS represents a united vision for the future of education, one where connected systems, data integrity, and student-centred design go hand in hand,” said Charlsey Pearce, CEO of MortarCAPS.
Built by the Sector, For the Sector
Developed in partnership with CAUDIT and CUCCIO, the MCDS is the first globally coordinated data standard created by the post-secondary sector itself.
It ensures core systems, from student records to finance, can speak the same language, improving data quality, service delivery, and compliance at scale.
With 37 years of experience in SaaS and a commitment to reinvesting 25% of revenue into R&D, TechnologyOne brings deep capability to this implementation, making it easier than ever for institutions to adopt MCDS across their digital ecosystems.
“Having a technology provider like TechnologyOne align with a sector-built standard like MCDS means less duplication, better data, and systems that actually talk to each other,” said Jack Williamson, VP Technology & Strategy at Southern Cross University.
“This is a global data revolution, and it’s being led by the sector itself,” added Andrew Mulcahy, Technical Principal at MortarCAPS.
A Step Change for CIOs, Policy Leaders, and Institutions
As expectations grow for transparency, agility, and student experience, this partnership signals a new phase in sector transformation. CIOs and digital leaders now have a clear pathway to adopt consistent, open data frameworks without the burden of bespoke development
“TechnologyOne’s alignment with MCDS is a major step forward for sector-wide efficiency,” said Greg Sawyer, CEO of CAUDIT. “This partnership equips CIOs and institutional leaders with the foundation for more consistent, compliant, and connected data, enabling smarter decisions and better outcomes for students.”
